July 25, 2020 She returned to her place in one of the two side altars of the chapel of the Holy Spirit of the old Bianchi di Corleone Hospital.
She returned, where she had been taken away in the 70s. The Madonna del Lume canvas of the eighteenth century and found by the police, was handed over to the archbishop of Monreale.

The work

This is almost certainly a work by the master-painter Carmelo Salpietro who was part of the D'anna school of art in Palermo. The author also has the Madonna della Pentecoste, preserved in the Oratorio dei Bianchi in Corleone.

Theft and investigations 
In the same period, when the Madonna del Lume disappeared into thin air, in Palermo the "Nativity" of Caravaggio was stolen by the Corleonese mafia.
The investigations of the Police of the special investigative nucleus have moved among the many reports received from local religious circles and from the residents of Corleone.

The discovery
Just a citizen of Corleone in recent days has indicated to the agents a secluded place in the countryside, where the painting was most likely hidden.
And that's where the canvas was found, wrapped, repaired and in good condition.

The return
The Madonna del Lume was examined by an expert and a restorer of ancient and religious works. In the police station some witnesses were heard who recognized the canvas of the 700. Today the official delivery, with the canvas returned to its rightful place.
