According to authorities, the incident occurred at about 14:00 in the Achkhoi-Martan district.
“An unknown person approached a VOGOiP officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and stabbed him, then threw a grenade. The attacker eliminated with reciprocal fire, ”the message says.
The Interior Ministry informed that the law enforcement officer died on the way to the hospital.
The identity of the attacker is currently being established.
