The United Arab Emirates (UAE) welcomed the arrival of the head of the Sudanese Transitional Military Council, Abdul Fattah al-Burhan Abdul Rahman, in a move that reflects the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people for security, stability and development.

The UAE is following with interest the developments in Sudan at this momentous moment in its modern history, expressing its full confidence in the ability of the brotherly Sudanese people and their national army to overcome challenges in order to achieve stability, prosperity and development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said in a statement.

The UAE affirmed its support for the steps announced by the Transitional Military Council in Sudan to preserve lives and property and stand by the Sudanese people, expressing the hope that this will achieve security and stability for the brotherly Sudan.

And wished all political, popular and professional forces and the military establishment in the Republic of the Sudan to maintain the legitimate institutions and the peaceful transfer of power, and to ensure a better future for the brotherly sons of Sudan and the maintenance of national unity.
