The Dubai Court of Appeal upheld a two-year prison term and a court order for a gang of nine Africans convicted of stealing 265,788 dirhams after they attacked a car with axes and knives and assaulted its driver, security guard and other employee in front of a money exchange company in the Muhaisnah area the second.

According to investigations conducted by the Public Prosecutor's Office, members of the gang, aged between 22 and 35, one of them a fugitive, took advantage of the work of the crew of the money transfer vehicle to receive the proceeds of the work of the exchange company that day during the month of July, and they blocked their way back to the car, and attacked them with white weapons, Before they could steal the bag of money they had just received from the management of the company's branch. They were released from the scene by a car waiting for them, after they destroyed the front frame of the money transfer vehicle by knife, while the victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The surveillance cameras' records, after being reviewed by the police who came to the scene after the alarm bell was sounded by an exchange company employee, revealed that the defendants were monitoring the scene before the crime was committed.

According to a Dubai police witness, the stolen bag was found empty 500 meters away from the scene of the crime, pointing out that the search and investigation found that the perpetrators used a car stolen from the Emirate of Sharjah, and fixed it on the car they used in the escape Of the place, and that they are in the Emirate of Ajman, was taken with the necessary procedures and arrangements with the Ajman Police and arrest them within hours.

The arrested members of the gang admitted that the fugitive was a planner to carry out the crime. He was a security guard in the same area and had information on where and when the money-transfer vehicles were present, noting that they had come to the site two weeks before the crime, For this purpose, on the day of the incident they met and distributed roles among themselves before they were brought in two cars and carried out the crime of forced robbery.
