As noted, this problem "threatens a large number of innocent civilians".
Trump intends to discuss a number of other topics, diplomats noted. Among them is the "destabilizing aggression" of Iran and the sponsorship of terrorism.
Previously, US Permanent Representative to the UN Nikki Haley said that Trump intends to personally hold in late September a meeting of the Security Council "on an important regional issue."
