It is reported by Kommersant, citing sources.

According to the newspaper, Yagolnikov at the Central Research Institute contained more than 100 "dead souls" who were paid for work done by staff members of a scientific institution.

It is clarified that the institute attracted the attention of military counterintelligence in 2018, when, thanks to the financial statements, it became clear that a private research and scientific firm working at the Central Research Institute of the East Kazakhstan region fulfills a significant part of the institute orders.

After the investigation, it became clear that in reality the employees of the company were not engaged in scientific and practical activities, but simply received a salary. This scheme, according to investigators, allowed Yagolnikov and other scam organizers to steal at least 14 million rubles.

The general did not admit his guilt and appealed against the arrest, the newspaper stresses.

Earlier, the Yuga.ru portal reported that a case of fraud had been opened against the chief of staff of the Ingush Interior Ministry.
