In Madagascar, the Ministry of Education apologizes after the publication on Friday of a post Facebook asking girls to wear "wise clothes" not to be sexually assaulted by men. A publication that sparked a controversy on social networks. Throughout the weekend, many women published a photo in a skirt or short dress to protest.

"#MajupeMondroit". It is with this keyword and the comment " Her fly, her problem with the law " that many women have responded on social networks to the Ministry of Education.

The origin of this outrage, a drawing of a young woman wearing a miniskirt and a high neckline published by the ministry on its Facebook page with a short text: " The wise clothes that young people wear girls diminish the diabolical needs of men who love to rape them. It is therefore the parents' duty to put their daughters on the right path to keep them away from clothing that attracts "

While several comments supported the ministry, those denouncing this retrograde view of women were numerous and immediate. " Shameful publication ", " the ministry makes the victims feel guilty of sexual assault ", " the culture of rape still has a long life in front of it ", " a macho perception of the Malagasy woman " can be read on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

" The guilt is viscerally inscribed in the society where the problem is moved along the length of the skirt and not the education and responsibility of the stalkers. (...) It is the duty of the parents to educate their sons to understand that the woman is not cattle (...) that the clothes that a woman wears are not an incitement to rape, "she writes. activist and editorialist Mbolantiana Raveloarimisa in the Madagascar Express Saturday.

Sunday, April 14, 48 hours later, hoping to put an end to this controversy, the ministry finally reacted by publishing a long press release in which he apologizes, saying that " nothing can justify sexual assault against women, let alone their dress. The unhappy post has been removed.
