The Lebanese army said in a brief statement that it had arrested a US citizen who infiltrated from occupied Palestinian territory into southern Lebanon on Tuesday.
The statement added that the army intelligence was able to arrest Colin Amiri after searches in the south of the country, where he was detained undercover in a street in the city of Tire, has been under investigation under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
Local news websites in southern Lebanon reported that Hezbollah had identified the infiltrator and indicated that he was a Jew of American nationality and taught English in Israel.
