The President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE), Patrick Bernasconi, named Thursday Nadia Bellaoui as the guarantor of the "great national debate", learned Europe 1. Nadia Bellaoui, 43, has a long history in the community and is the current secretary general of the League of Education.

A college of five guarantors. A college of five "guarantors" must be appointed by Friday to "guarantee independence" of the "great national debate" launched Tuesday to respond to the crisis of "yellow vests" and which will be led by two ministers. Two of these five are appointed by the government, while the other three are appointed respectively by the Presidents of the National Assembly, the Senate and the EESC. They will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the debate.

Two other guarantors named Thursday. National Assembly President Richard Ferrand (LREM) announced Thursday that he has chosen former Constitutional Council member Guy Canivet to be his "guarantor". The president of the upper house Gérard Larcher (LR) chose for his part the political scientist and specialist in electoral sociology Pascal Perrineau.
