The builders of the railway part of the bridge of the Crimean bridge started laying the rails from the side of Kerch. It is reported by the information center of the project "Crimean Bridge".

"Now the upper structure of the double-track railway through the Kerch Strait is being formed simultaneously from two banks: the brigades are moving towards each other," - said in a statement. We are talking about the shores of the Crimea and Kuban.

It is noted that from the side of the Taman coast in the direction of Kerch, the rails are laid from the summer of 2018. In the course of these works, sections of a 440-meter-long railway line are formed from 25-meter links. Between them put equalizing joints necessary to compensate for thermal stresses.

“Today, almost 22 out of 38 kilometers of rail and sleepers have been laid on the bridge. The railway and the approaches to it will work, as planned, in December 2019, ”the information center reported.

The weight of one span exceeds 500 tons.

At the end of March, the builders of the bridge said that the shores of the Crimea and Taman are connected by all railway spans.

It is about 160 thousand tons of metal structures, placed on 307 supports. More than 6 km of spans are located above the water area, the rest are installed over land, in particular, the spit and the island of Tuzla.

At that time, Dmitry Petukhov, deputy general director for contractor production, said that the final span was a span between supports 219 and 220. This is a construction almost 64 meters long, which was installed in a design position in several stages.

“The overflight sections were lifted alternately by cranes. Further, they will be interconnected at height with the help of bolts and welding. In order to fix the sections at a height, two auxiliary, temporary ones were built between the two main pillars, ”said Petukhov.

The builders clarified that the railway part of the Crimean bridge consists of 306 span structures. Each of them has two blocks, from which they form branches for parallel movement of trains to the Crimea and back.

These spans were made at Russian factories and delivered to Taman unassembled. The weight of one span exceeds 500 tons. The installation of the spans on the land pillars of the bridge was carried out with the help of cranes, powerful jacks were used for sea piers.

Note that the largest arched span of the double-track road is located above the shipping corridor in the Kerch Strait. This construction is about 10 times more massive and almost 4 times longer than the rest of the spans. The arch span is about 6 thousand tons, the length from the support to the support is 227 meters, which is comparable to the size of two football fields.

The railway under construction is designed for the movement of trains weighing up to 7100 tons in the temperature range from −27 to +57 ° C. The capacity of the crossing will be up to 47 pairs of trains per day.

A certain mode of operation on the bridge required the laying of heat-strengthened rails of type R65 of Russian production. In total, about 5 thousand tons of rails and 76 thousand reinforced concrete sleepers will be laid in two ways.

In addition, acoustic screens are installed along the railway to protect the environment from train noise. They are three meter high panels. Several sections have been declared where such structures will appear: from the 1st to the 14th pylons from the side of Taman and from the 286th to the 307th pillars from the side of Kerch.

In addition to this, complexes for multilevel cleaning and disinfection of wastewater are being built throughout the entire road. The system will include 18 local treatment facilities, which should ensure the environmental safety of the railway part of the Crimean bridge.

Trains will start in December

The Federal Unitary Enterprise "Crimean Railway" (KZD) plans to begin selling train tickets for trains across the Crimean Bridge on December 9, 2019.

At the time of the launch, ten paired passenger train routes are planned: from Moscow to Simferopol, Sevastopol, Evpatoria, Feodosia; from St. Petersburg to Sevastopol and Yevpatoria; from Bryansk, Yekaterinburg, Kislovodsk and Murmansk - to Simferopol. It is expected that in 2020 the passenger traffic will amount to 2.6 million people.

Recall that the automobile part of the bridge was solemnly opened by Russian President Vladimir Putin. This happened on May 15, 2018. A day later, at the crossing, they launched a movement.
