A boater drowned this Thursday afternoon in the harbor of Brest, while he joined his sailboat at anchor. The authorities of the port of Four-à-Chaux, in Plougastel-Daoulas, gave the alert. The body of the man was found at 3:45 pm

On Thursday afternoon at 15:30, the Regional Operational Center for Surveillance and Rescue (Cross) Corsen was alerted by the authorities of the port of Four-à-Chaux in Plougastel-Daoulas.

The harbor master was worried about the presence of a car in the parking lot. He had seen the owner of the vehicle leave the same morning in an annex, in the direction of his wet sailboat near the port. The sailboat was still at anchor, but no trace of the boater.

Nautical and terrestrial means were immediately engaged: land patrol and fire rescue light boat, PM 442 maritime affairs star as well as the Cheque Navy school building which was sailing nearby. The wind was blowing from the north force 3 on the Beaufort scale, 12 to 19 km / h and the sea was calm.

A quarter of an hour later, the harbor master recalled the Cross to signal the presence of an inanimate floating body in the Lauberlac'h cove. The death of the yachtsman was unfortunately noted.
