A Dutch woman doctor cheated dozens of women who had intended his clinic in search of reproduction through IVF. Instead of being fertilized by the sperm given to their wives, the doctor decided to be the alternative source.
According to Dutch press reports, the doctor, who died in 2017, used semen to fertilize dozens of patients who had been brought in because of reproductive problems in Rotterdam.
Children's Defense, an association that speaks on behalf of victims from parents, mothers and children, says DNA tests have revealed that 49 children are already descended from the physician Jean Kerbat.
The case has become controversial in the Netherlands after a court ruled in February that DNA tests should be carried out by potential victims in order to be sure of the doctor's action.
