Anastasia Vashukevich (Nastya Rybka) and Alexander Kirillov (Alex Leslie) were detained at Sheremetyevo Airport, reports RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the State Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moscow. The police explained the detention with criminal proceedings.

“As part of criminal proceedings initiated on grounds of a crime under part 2 of article 240 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (engaging in prostitution - RT), three citizens of the Russian Federation and a citizen of the Republic of Belarus who arrived by flight from the Kingdom of Thailand were detained at Sheremetyevo airport”.

The maximum penalty for this article is six years of imprisonment.

Detention Vashukevich at the Moscow airport interested in the embassy of Belarus, because she is a citizen of the republic. The diplomatic department said they verify the information received.

Shortly before the detention, Vashukevich reported that criminal or administrative cases against her were not listed in the courts.

Earlier, Vashukevich and Kirillov became the defendants in the case of "sex training" in the Thai resort town of Pattaya. January 17, they were deported from the kingdom, they flew to Moscow on a regular flight from Bangkok Suvannaphum Airport.

In the temporary detention center of the immigration police of the Thai capital there is still another person involved in the case, who is deported in the coming days.

The formal reason for the deportation was the recognition by all the defendants of the proceedings of their own guilt on all counts. This step opened up the possibility for the court to sentence them to a suspended sentence.

Court in Thailand and Russia

Anastasia Vashukevich and Aleksandra Kirillova were arrested in February 2018 in a hotel in Pattaya during a sex training session. From that moment on, they spent nine months in the investigation jail.

Together with Vashukevich and Kirillov, six more citizens of Russia and Belarus were detained. In April 2018, they were formally charged with: organizing a criminal community, conspiring to commit a crime and providing sexual services as part of a criminal group.

They were also charged with carrying out illegal entrepreneurial and labor activities in Thailand, but later this part of the charges was dropped.

As explained by the defense of the accused, this happened due to the application by the judge of amendments to the Labor Law regarding the work activities of foreign citizens in Thailand. It is noted that these changes came later, but the court decided that the provisions have already been adopted and can be interpreted in favor of the accused.

In June 2018, the Pattaya police completed the investigation and handed over the materials to the prosecutor’s office for an indictment. In July, during a technical meeting, the court set the dates for the consideration of the case of Russians and Belarusians detained in Thailand on January 15, 16, 17 and 18, 2019.

During the trial, several attempts were made to temporarily release the detainees on bail, but none of them was crowned with success. The court explained its decision by the fact that the defendants do not have a permanent residence in Thailand and they can try to leave the country.

In parallel with these events, the case against Vashukevich and Kirillov appeared in a Russian court. In July 2018, the Ust-Labinsk court considered the claim of businessman Oleg Deripaska for the protection of privacy and non-pecuniary damage.

The reason for going to court was the publication of photos of Deripaska and secretly recorded conversations with a businessman, which was carried out by Vashukevich and Kirillov. From each of the respondents, the entrepreneur intended to recover a million rubles. Along with this, there was a requirement to block the distribution of Deripaska’s personal data along with all materials where this information is used.

The Ust-Labinsk court partially satisfied Deripaska’s lawsuit against Vashukevich and Kirillov. They were charged 500 thousand rubles each and ordered to remove from the Internet all common materials concerning Deripaska.

“If they are extradited, of course, we will become more active. I would not like to disclose in advance the strategy that we will do ... but we will definitely, ”the entrepreneur’s lawyer noted.
