Fan mail is certainly nothing unusual for Kylie Minogue, but this letter should probably have surprised the singer. No less than Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar sent her a letter before a scheduled concert in Dublin: handwritten and with an official letterhead. This reports, among other things, the "Guardian".

He is looking forward to the performance, wrote Varadkar. "I'm a huge fan!" Apparently, he also wanted to share his enthusiasm with Minogue face-to-face: he knew that the singer was staying in a hotel near his office in the government building: "If you like, I'd like to welcome you personally to Ireland," he wrote ,

But the politician was disappointed - at least for the time being. Minogue had to cancel her appearance in October due to illness. However, according to Guardian, the singer called Varadkar to apologize.

Finally, the politician and singer had met at the new date of the concert in December. Afterwards Varadkar had denied on Twitter to have eaten at the concert for free.

The politician's office had initially tried to prevent the letter from being published. It had, so the page "Extra.ie", argued that the message has nothing to do with the function of Varadkar as head of government - despite the letterhead and the signature Leo V Taoiseach. Taoiseach is named the head of Ireland. Finally, the 40-year-old has agreed to the publication but.
