On the Sanriku Railway, the "Kotatsu Train" that runs between Kuji Station and Miyako Station on the Kita-Rias Line has become a winter tradition, and operation began on the 16th.

At Kuji Station, the first train departed with more than 20 passengers as children waved flags to see them off.

There were 12 dugouts on board, and passengers enjoyed the winter scenery of the Rias Coast while enjoying a bento box containing local seafood such as sea urchin and abalone.

On the way, at the bridge, which is known as a scenic spot, the train was stopped for time to take pictures, and "Namomi" wearing a demon-like mask that appears in a traditional event in the Kuji region appeared on the train, making the passengers excited.

A man in his 20s who visited with his family from Chiba Prefecture said, "The food was delicious and there were various events and it was fun.
