At 12 o'clock on December 16, the Central Meteorological Observatory issued a yellow warning for low temperatures, and it is expected that from the night of the 10th to the 12th, under the influence of a strong cold wave, most of China will have cooling weather. On the morning of the 16th, the minimum temperature of 16 °C was located in the area from southern Hubei to southern Anhui and central Zhejiang. The strong cold wave has a wide range of influence and a large cooling range, and there will be strong cold air affecting the central and eastern regions from the 0th to the 18th.
Xu Jun said that in the coming week, temperatures in most parts of China will continue to be lower than the same period in history. Among them, from 16 o'clock on the 14th to 19 o'clock on the 14th, the daily minimum temperature in some areas of northern Xinjiang, central and northern Northwest China, Inner Mongolia, North China, Northeast China, Huanghuai, Jianghuai, Jianghan, northern Jiangnan, Guizhou and other places is more than 5 °C lower than the same period in history, and some of the above areas are more than 7 °C lower, and the daily minimum temperature in some areas of North China, Shandong and other places will be close to or break through the extreme value of the same period in history.
"The impact of persistently low temperatures is all-encompassing." Xu Jun said that first of all, the demand for heating will continue to be high, and the demand for energy such as coal, natural gas and electricity will increase significantly and remain at a high level. On the other hand, the continuous low temperature will lead to an increase in the risk of low temperature frost damage in facility agriculture and animal husbandry, so it is recommended to strengthen the windproof reinforcement of facility agricultural greenhouses, strengthen the temperature control in the sheds, and do a good job in the cold protection and warmth of livestock and crops. In addition, continuous low temperature can easily cause cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, respiratory diseases and chilblains, aggravate the pain of patients with arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, and susceptible people need to focus on protection.
In addition, the Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that under the influence of cold air, from the 16th to the 18th, there will be freezing rain in high-altitude mountainous areas such as north-central and eastern Guizhou, western and southern Hunan, especially from night to early morning.
Xu Jun said that the occurrence of freezing rain will bring a variety of hazards to the affected areas, and the affected areas should take preventive measures in advance, preset emergency forces, and do a good job of cold protection and warmth, and local residents should reduce travel in freezing rain as much as possible.
