In 2017, it became clear that the blue and three-meter-tall figures known as "Na'vi" would be a major investment for the new generation of consoles. Magnus Jansén calls the final product an action-packed adventure where the player is taken into a standalone story.

"You don't have to have seen the videos, but if you're in the know, you'll see a lot of things we've put in for the fans," he told SVT.

In the gaming industry, large parts of a project are secret right up until launch. Ditte Deenfeldt, who is responsible for the game's overall vision, says that it is nerve-wracking – but also wonderful – that it is now being released.

"Plants that look at you"

At the center is also the place "Pandora", a world with everything from steppe landscapes to flying mountains and a little Scandinavian forest.

In order to get as close to the surroundings as possible, the studio has used a first-person perspective, i.e. that you as a player see through the character's own eyes.

"If you've seen the movies, you know that this world is very reactive, it's plants that kind of look at you and cool animals with six legs and four eyes. As a game developer, you can see that these can be fun gaming experiences," says Ditte Deenfeldt.

But not everyone is happy with the choice of first-person perspective – see what the game looks like and hear how the developers relate to meeting the expectations and reactions of a large audience.
