• Televisión La Fábrica de la Tele and Mediaset definitively break off their relationship after 17 years
  • Mediaset Borja Prado will resign from the presidency after a year and a half in office

Carlos Sobera appears at the wheel of a classic Beetle; Marta Flich follows him in a sports car; Ion Aramendi, more ecological, arrives by bike; Ana Rosa Quintana waves from the back seat of a taxi; Joaquín Prat's face can be seen behind a motorcycle helmet. Mediaset has made public this Thursday its Christmas promo, the announcement in which the communication groups show off all their stars.

However, some of its most representative faces have disappeared from Telecinco and Cuatro's Christmas video this year.

It all takes place at the entrance to the Mediaset España car park, where a newly arrived security guard learns how to manage the barrier and parking spaces. The most veteran explains the job, and gives rise to the appearance of the leading presenters of the networks. Suddenly, a helicopter appears. "The one from Survivors?" asks the rookie guard, to which his companion replies, "At this hour? No, that's Calleja."

Sandra Barneda and Emma García share a convertible; Iker Jiménez and Carmen Porter come down from the sky in a hybrid between a car and a spaceship... And where are Jorge Javier Vázquez, María Patiño and Nuria Marín? What's more, where is Risto Mejide? The four absences draw attention, especially in a week marked by the rupture between Mediaset and La Fábrica de la Tele, once the producer of Sálvame and which will be without any program on the schedules of Telecinco and Cuatro as of January 1, when the contract of Socialité, Viajar con Chester and Todo es mentira ends.

The four faces omitted in the Christmas greeting are related to the production company, although their situations are radically different, which further increases the rarity of their absences. María Patiño and Nuria Marín have a contract with La Fábrica de la Tele, and will probably no longer be at the helm of Socialité, although their possible replacements are still unconfirmed rumors.

For their part, Jorge Javier Vázquez and Risto Mejide have long-term contracts with Mediaset, which they have recently renewed: Jorge Javier just over a year ago; Risto, in March 2021. Despite the fact that both have been related in recent times with formats produced by La Fábrica de la Tele -Jorge Javier Vázquez with the extinct Cuentos Chinos; Risto Mejide with Traveling with Chester, ended the season this Wednesday, and Todo es mentira - their contracts link them to the parent company of Telecinco and Cuatro waiting for a new destination, in the event that Mediaset does not find a new production company for the formats that end their contract.

Hence, the absence of the two presenters is a great mystery. Jorge Javier Vázquez could return in the new edition of Supervivientes, which is only mentioned in passing in the announcement, and Risto Mejide has received an offer from the network to become a producer of its two formats on Cuatro.
