A single-vehicle accident has left a trail of devastation in Datteln, North Rhine-Westphalia: According to the police, a man in a car came off the road to the left at a bridge on Wednesday evening. The car plunged down an embankment and ended up hitting the roof of a parked vehicle. This was completely destroyed by the force.

The car was then catapulted over a fence, against a garden shed and a carport. In it, two other cars were damaged. In the garden of a house, the accident car finally came to a stop.

The 45-year-old and his passenger were slightly injured. The cause of the accident is still unclear. Because there were indications of a previous consumption of alcohol, blood was taken from the 45-year-old. The police estimated the total damage at about 175,000 euros.
