Since 1927, Time magazine has named the Person of the Year. Over the years, the award has gone to presidents, popes, business leaders – and in 2019 to Greta Thunberg.

This year, it is Taylor Swift who has had the most impact on her time, according to the American magazine. 2023 was a dark year, Time notes.

"In a polarized world where so many traditional forces are struggling, Taylor Swift has found a way to bridge boundaries and be a positive source of inspiration. No one else on this earth right now can touch so many people," Time writes

The 34-year-old performer lifted his superstar status to an even higher level with this year's major world tour that set revenue records in North America. Several of her old songs ended up on the charts again after she re-released them.

She has also influenced the film industry and the world of sports during the year.

When Swift put a filmed version of the concert in theaters, new revenue records were set and during the fall, the American football league NFL could also note that a whole new crowd of fans began to care about the sport when it was revealed that the artist had gotten together with Travis Kelce, superstar of the Kansas City Chiefs team.

In May next year, Taylor Swift will come to Sweden for three gigs at Friends arena.

Taylor Swift was one of nine people nominated by Time for the award. Among others who distinguished themselves during the year were Russian President Vladimir Putin, AI pioneer Sam Altman, King Charles and the doll Barbie.
