Among this year's five most played Finnish songs in Sweden are two songs by the children's favorite: Arne Alligator & Djungeltrumman. Finland's biggest classical superstar, Jean Sibelius, also has two songs on the list produced by the copyright organisation STIM.

"The list shows that there are some symbols that are very rewarding to grasp. Sibelius's music came into being around the years when Finland became independent," says Thella Johnson, one of the voices behind Swedish Radio's podcast "We listen to Finland".

At the top of the list is Darude's electronic dance hit "Sandstorm" from 2000.

"This is another strong era in Finland's history. There was a lot of energetic pop music that had a broad international breakthrough.
