In October, a 10-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of murder for drowning a male friend who was riding in the passenger seat by driving his car into Lake Hamana in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Police are investigating the details of the accident, believing it was an attempt to fake the accident.

Michio Hashimoto, a 53-year-old unemployed resident of Shinshiro City, Aichi Prefecture, was arrested on suspicion of murder for allegedly dragging his friend Takeshi Yoneyama (10), who was riding in the passenger seat, out of his car and drowning after driving his car into Lake Hamana in Nishi-ku, Hamamatsu City.

The police sent the suspect to the prosecutor's office on the 21th.

The car was found a few meters from the road along Lake Hamana, and the suspect Hashimoto initially explained to the voluntary investigation that he had entered the lake by mistake, according to an interview with the police.

However, when the suspect was questioned about the lack of brake marks on the road at the scene, he turned around and admitted to intentionally entering the lake and his involvement in the incident.

The two have been friends for about 52 years, so the police are investigating the details of the incident, assuming that the suspect tried to fake the accident.
