Alexander Lazarev was born on April 27, 1967 in Moscow. At the age of 12 he appeared on the stage of the Moscow Academic Theater named after Vl. Mayakovsky. He studied at the Moscow Art Theater School on the course of Alexander Kalyagin, and after graduation he was accepted into the Lenkom troupe.

In films, he starred in such projects as "Admiral" (2008), "The Life and Adventures of Mishka Yaponchik" (2011), "Ekaterina" (2014), "Union of Salvation" (2019) and others.

Earlier, Valery Gergiev officially took office as director of the Bolshoi Theatre.
