Princess Yoshiko, the second daughter of Prince and Mrs. Akishinomiya, who is on an official visit to Peru in South America, attended a welcome event in Cusco, a southern city that was once the capital of the Inca Empire, after inspecting archaeological sites.

Located at an altitude of about 3400,5 meters in the Andes Mountains, Cusco was once the capital of the Inca Empire and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On the morning of the <>th local time, Yoshiko visited the ruins of "Sacsayhuaman" located on a hill overlooking the city of Cusco.

The ruins have a three-tiered long stone wall made of huge granite rocks that are perfectly assembled, and we were greeted by 3 alpacas bred by the national park that manages the site.

Yoshiko saw the largest stone in the ruins, about 15 meters high and weighing about 7 tons, and the guide asked, "What kind of weight was it weighed?"

After this, Yoshiko visited the "Cusco Cathedral" in the center of the city.

The cathedral was built from the mid-16th century to the mid-17th century on the site of an Inca palace, and Yoshiko saw religious paintings by indigenous artists reflecting Andean culture.

In the afternoon, he attended a welcome event at Cusco City Hall.

To the accompaniment of Andean flutes such as the quena, women dressed in colorful traditional costumes performed traditional dances from the region, and Yoshiko was applauded.
