On the same day, the closing ceremony of the 2023 Guilin Arts Festival was held in Xiangshan Scenic Area, Guilin, Guangxi, and at the closing ceremony, Xu Yongsheng released the relevant matters of the "Ouyang Yuqian Drama Award", the establishment of which aims to inherit the fine tradition of drama and the resonance of the times, and promote the prosperity and development of theater culture.
Guilin has a strong historical and cultural heritage, and has always had the business card of "the best landscape in the world". Ouyang Yuqian, the first president of the Central Academy of Drama, once used Guilin as a base to hold the "Southwest Drama Exhibition" and carry out the drama movement, leaving a strong mark on the history of Chinese theater. During the Anti-Japanese War, Guilin had a special place in the history of Chinese theater.
It is reported that the "Ouyang Yuqian Drama Award" will be open to the whole country, and the repertoire, published papers, published works (including translations), drama exhibitions and other theatrical activities that have been performed nationwide since last year can be selected. The award will invite well-known theater artists and scholars at home and abroad to form a jury committee.
