In the past 18 years, Hu Fang has been dancing in the name of her heart, from cornea donation to blind children, to AED and first aid popularization and raising epidemic prevention materials, she has led a group of people to become "lamplighters", and used the hand of public welfare to build a bridge of love between caring people and vulnerable groups.
In 2006, by chance, Hu Fang learned that there were thousands of patients waiting for cornea transplants in Zhejiang, but not many volunteered to donate corneas. She resolutely walked into the Zhejiang Provincial Blindness Prevention Guidance Center, filled out the cornea donation registration form, and became the first cornea donation volunteer in Jinhua.
During her time as a volunteer for donation, Hu Fang witnessed the thirst for corneas of too many patients who were in deep darkness, and came into contact with many stories of cornea donation volunteers.
Cornea donation is not an easy task. She went to the hospital in the middle of the night again and again, faced the operating table, worked as a doctor's assistant, and even went to the morgue with the doctor in the middle of the night to get close to the cornea surgery.
Faced with the scene of corneal surgery, Hu Fang trembled with fear, and after the operation, her lip had been bitten by herself. Even so, Hu Fang never thought of giving up the road of public welfare. "I do these things because someone needs them," she said. ”
In August 2007, Hu Fang published the "Cornea Donor Diary" in the local media under the pseudonym of "Heart Dance", which truly recorded the mental journey of a cornea donation volunteer and let more people know about their existence. Many netizens called her directly and expressed their support for her cause.
Because of this diary, more than 40 people donated their corneas, and more than 70 patients have regained their sight.
Over the years, Hu Fang has also been on the road to help the blind. Initially, she mobilized the village electrician to conduct a survey of blind children after reading the electricity meter. Based on the results, she began to connect with schools for the blind and persuade blind children to enrol in schools. So far, five children have been sent to study for the blind, and some are now in employment.
In 2014, with the support of State Grid Lanxi Power Supply Company, Hu Fang established the Lanxi Xinwu Social Work Service Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Xinwu Studio"), bringing together a group of people with the same love to better exert the power of public welfare.
It is better to teach a man to fish than to teach him to fish. In 2016, in order to help the cornea donation volunteer Tu Dong's family tide over the difficulties, Hu Fang led the Heart Dance Studio to help Tu's mother start a series of "Love Bayberry" products. They helped Tu Mama register trademarks, set up workshops, design packaging, and produce original "Tu Mama" dried bayberry and bayberry wine.
After active docking, Hu Fang set up the "Heart Dance Public Welfare Fund" in Zhejiang Women's Children's Foundation, and every time a "Tu Mama" gift box is sold, 8 yuan will be donated to the public welfare fund, which is used for the families of cornea donors to purchase serious illness insurance and realize the self-hematopoietic function of public welfare projects; The Zhejiang Government Affairs Short Video Alliance has established a base for party building and common prosperity, and promoted Tu Mama's products on the government affairs short video public welfare platform and other channels to create brand influence and help common prosperity. In recent years, the "love bayberry" series of agricultural products have been continuously upgraded according to market demand, and gradually opened up sales, becoming a well-known "golden business card" of Lanxi native products.
As a non-partisan person, she also served as the vice president of the Lanxi New Federation, and has won honors such as the National Advanced Individual in the Fight against the New Coronary Pneumonia Epidemic, the National 2022 Red Flag Bearer, the Zhejiang Charity Award, and was the torchbearer of the 120 Beijing Winter Olympics.
