The Paper (www.thepaper.cn) noted that Anhui Medical University, Wu Zunyou's undergraduate and master's alma mater, recently set up the Wu Zunyou Scholarship and raised nearly 3,45 yuan in 11 days (as of 3 o'clock on November 22), completing 89.79% of the target.

According to the alumni donation platform of the Anhui Medical University Education Foundation, which released fundraising information, according to the initiative of Professor Wu Zunyou's former colleagues, friends and alumni, and with the consent of Professor Wu's family, it is decided to set up the "Wu Zunyou Scholarship" fund, which is raised through alumni donations and social donations, mainly used to fund and reward students of the School of Public Health of Anhui Medical University and promote the construction of a high-level public health school.

Born in 1963, Wu Zunyou was admitted to the Department of Health of Anhui Medical University in 1980, and after graduating in 1985, he studied for a master's degree in epidemiology under the tutelage of famous epidemiologists Wu and Zhang Yanwen. After graduating in 1988, he worked at the Anhui Provincial Epidemic Prevention Station and later pursued a Ph.D. in epidemiology at the University of California, Los Angeles. After returning to China, Wu Zunyou organized the design of the world's largest sentinel surveillance system and health interventions for the AIDS epidemic, providing important support and guidance for the national AIDS prevention and control work.

The Anhui Medical University Education Foundation was approved by the Anhui Provincial Department of Civil Affairs and registered in March 2017 with the Anhui Provincial Department of Education as the business supervisory unit.
