With the autumn holiday season approaching, the number of people climbing mountains to see the autumn leaves is increasing, and on the 4th, mountain rescue team members of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department called on climbers to be careful about distress, such as submitting climbing plans and thoroughly equipping themselves at the trailhead in Okutama-cho, Tokyo.

At an altitude of 1363,40 meters, about 10 people, including members of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department and Tokyo Fire Department's mountain rescue team, gathered at the trailhead of Mt. Kawanori, which is popular among day-trippers and other climbers.

In addition to asking the climbers to submit a "climbing plan" that includes their names and addresses, emergency contact information and climbing routes, they also called on the climbers to thoroughly equip themselves with warm clothing and headlights.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, there was an accident in October in which a man in his 70s who was visiting from Tokyo slipped and died.

Since there have been a series of accidents in the surrounding mountains, the Metropolitan Police Department and other agencies are calling for thorough submission of mountaineering plans and reasonable climbing according to one's ability.

Daiki Yabe, Deputy Captain of the Mountain Rescue Team of the Ome Police Station of the Metropolitan Police Department, said, "Please be sure to submit a mountaineering plan because it is the most necessary thing to protect yourself.
