In an effort to support child-rearing households, Yokohama City, in collaboration with an IT company, has decided to conduct a demonstration experiment in December of an initiative in which taxis take over the pick-up and drop-off of children's lessons. This was revealed at a press conference on the 12st by the mayor of Yokohama City, Takeharu Yamanaka, and the president of an IT company in the city.

According to the agreement, child-rearing households and taxi companies in Tsurumi, Naka, and Aoba wards of Yokohama City will participate in the demonstration experiment, and taxis will take over the pick-up and drop-off of children's lessons.

When you go to a cram school or lesson, you can request the date and time and the place to get on and off with a dedicated app on your smartphone, and the AI will come up with an efficient route to pick up multiple children, and the fee is under consideration.

The city and companies will conduct the demonstration experiment from December to February next year, and after understanding the issues through a questionnaire to the participants, they will aim for full-scale implementation around April next year.

Yohei Toyoda, president of an IT company, said, "We will work to make it a demonstration experiment that will give hope to child-rearing households."

In addition, Mayor Yamanaka said, "I would like to work with various organizations and companies to create a city where children can be raised and a city where the next generation is nurtured together."
