A real estate company manager in his 2s was arrested for defrauding two women he met on a dating app of more than 900 million yen by lying that he was financing the purchase of an apartment to live together after hinting at marriage. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the possibility that he defrauded at least five women, including two women, of about 50 million yen. The manager has denied some of the charges.

The arrested suspect is Koji Kinoshita (56), a real estate company manager living in Minami-ku, Saitama City.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, between January and April last year, two women in their 1s who met on a dating app were suspected of fraud for allegedly defrauding them of a total of 4.50 million yen as funds for the purchase of an apartment they live together after hinting at marriage.

The manager seems to have gone to see the apartment immediately after starting a relationship with each woman and said, "I just bought a luxury car and I don't have any money on hand, so I want you to give it out temporarily."

In response to the investigation, he denied some of the charges, saying, "There are some things that are not true."

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the possibility that he defrauded at least five people, including the two in this case, of a total of about 2 million yen.
