On October 10, the Shanghai Jing'an District Procuratorate prosecuted Wang and others on suspicion of fraud, and the case is currently being further handled.
"Jin Dong said he wanted to fall in love with me"
In September 2022, the Nanjing West Road Police Station of the Jing'an Branch of the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau received a report that Mr. Zhang said that his mother was suspected of being defrauded, and the police went to his home with Mr. Zhang to understand the situation. Unexpectedly, Mr. Zhang's mother, Aunt Zhang, had a negative attitude, not only refusing to provide any information about her identity, but also unwilling to reveal anything about her experience in the face of police questioning.
"Even if I am deceived, I am willing!" According to Mr. Zhang's description, the police judged that Aunt Zhang was likely to encounter the online "pig killing plate" fraud, but in the face of the police's inquiry, Aunt Zhang was always resolute and unwilling to cooperate with the investigation, so the police could only record the clues of the police first. Three days later, Mr. Zhang went to the police station again to report the case, saying that his mother had been defrauded of more than 20 yuan. After investigation, the public security organs found that this case was not an isolated case, and that there may be an organized and premeditated criminal gang hidden behind it.
It is understood that Aunt Zhang is a loyal fan of actor Jin Dong, and likes to post photos or videos about Jin Dong on short video platforms in her spare time. In October 2021, Aunt Zhang was pulled into a fan group called "Jin Dong Star".
Since February 2022, Aunt Zhang has been constantly recharging and rewarding a user named "Jin Dong" in the group, and soon after, "Jin Dong" added Aunt Zhang's WeChat in the name of falling in love. The chat records provided by Mr. Zhang show that the other party sent a lot of messages containing words such as "I will marry you" and "I miss you", and Aunt Zhang gradually fell into the sweet words of the other party, until the case was discovered, Aunt Zhang did not believe that the other party was a liar.
According to another victim, Ms. Li, she was first accosted by an account called "Your Future Dongdong" on a short video platform, and then the other party asked for her mobile phone number and added WeChat. The WeChat user named "Together for a Life" told Ms. Li that he was a star "Jin Dong", and also sent a photo of "Jin Dong's" ID card, which made Ms. Li believe it was true, and under the guidance of the other party, she successively transferred tens of thousands of yuan as an investment.
The fraud gang consisted of nine young women
After investigation, this fraud gang was actually composed of nine women with an average age of less than 30 years old.
Wang, the leader, was engaged in a similar business in a company, that is, fraudulently using the identity of a celebrity on a short video app to defraud money, at that time, Wang was just a salesman, responsible for chatting with netizens. After a period of time, Wang found that this line of business was profitable, so he took the initiative to resign and planned to work alone, and she was partnered with her colleague Gao at the time. They set up a shell company called an e-commerce company, which is actually a fraud gang. Wang serves as the boss of the company, mainly responsible for sending money to employees and keeping accounts; Gao is responsible for attendance, management salesman and other work; Cai participated in teaching some members of the faculty to defraud words, etc.; In addition, there are 6 salesmen who are responsible for communicating with netizens, including Li and Lin.

The first is training, Wang and Gao have relevant experience, responsible for training their salesmen, teaching them the skills to chat with netizens, and girls are often more able to grasp the emotional needs of women in love. They usually don't directly admit that they are celebrities in chats, but make each other believe that they are celebrities in a few words. In addition to speech, the salesman will also download some male voice notes from the Internet to confirm his male identity. The second is to raise an account, they use the video browsing preferences of middle-aged and elderly women, and put relevant videos on the short video platform - the background of flowers and plants, the audio and emotional topics of male voices, and set the birthday, address and other information to be consistent with the star Jin Dong, and then "follow" in the message area, which makes many middle-aged and elderly netizens think that this account is Jin Dong himself. Immediately afterwards, they added some netizens to the video comment area, most of whom were women, aged between 40 and 65. Because they are not familiar with online fraud routines, these netizens have no sense of prevention, and they will be pulled into the group chat by fraudsters in a daze, join the fan group, and pay a fee ranging from 100 yuan to 200 yuan to join the group. When mentioning how to find "target customers", Wang explained that they would search for "Jin Dong" on the platform to find some associated users and follow them. During the chat, they said a few words from time to time, "going to filming" and "catching up with the announcement", which further confirmed the actor's personality. In order to maintain the relationship with netizens, Wang will also regularly buy some red wine and skin care products from the Internet and send them to netizens. Finally, there is "killing fish". As the chat deepens, they will induce netizens to transfer money in the name of "falling in love" or "investing". At this time, the other party often trusts him <> percent, thinking that "Jin Dong" cannot deceive people. The suspect admitted that the more emotional value he gave, the more money he can receive.
The stronger the rule of law, the brighter the sunset
With the arrival of 9 criminal suspects one after another, the Jing'an District Procuratorate believes that the criminal gang led by Wang has defrauded Aunt Zhang and other victims of more than 2022 yuan from May 5 to June this year, and used these illegal profits for shopping and consumption, paying salesman wages, etc., which has violated the criminal law. On October 6, the Jing'an District Procuratorate prosecuted eight suspects on suspicion of fraud, and one suspect was dealt with in a separate case.
Until the case was discovered, Aunt Zhang denied that she had suffered a fraud. The prosecutor in charge learned that Aunt Zhang had been living alone, so the fake "Jin Dong" took advantage of the situation to fill Aunt Zhang's emotional shortcomings.
In recent years, many criminals have taken advantage of the characteristics of the elderly, such as information blockage, need of companionship, and weak cognition, to reach into the "sunset circle" fraud. This is not the first time that the case in the fake "Jin Dong" fraud case has occurred, and in the process of handling this case, actor Jin Dong himself has also posted on Weibo, saying that more practical and effective measures and methods are still needed to prevent fraud.
