Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture, where the outflow of tax revenue from "hometown tax payment" is an issue, started a crowdfunding campaign using "hometown tax payment" on the 2nd to collect funds for renovating the tiles on the sidewalk leading to "Tokyo Disney Resort" in front of JR Maihama Station.

The more than 100-meter-long deck leading from the south exit of Maihama Station on the JR Keiyo Line in Urayasu City to Tokyo Disney Resort is often required to be renovated because of the large number of people coming and going.

According to the city, it will cost nearly 11 million yen to renovate the entire building, but in recent years, the outflow of resident tax due to "hometown tax payment" has become an issue for the city, and last year it was more than 2.11 billion yen.

For this reason, in order to cover part of the cost through crowdfunding using "hometown tax payment", we started collecting donations on the 2nd.

Donations start at 1,3000 yen per unit, and those who donate more than 1,<> yen can write their names and messages on the back of the newly laid tiles on a first-come, first-served basis.

Etsutsugu Uchida, the mayor of Urayasu City, said, "We devised it as a new measure to secure financial resources, and we hope that many people will feel closer to Maihama Station and Urayasu City."

Donations will be collected until the end of this year.
