As part of his controversial interactions, former US President Donald Trump returned to the fore with statements about his vision of how to tackle the problem of shoplifting, which has recently increased in the American mainland, where he sees their murder on the scene.

Trump used to criticize his successor, President Joe Biden, in his speeches, and often attributed most of the problems suffered by Americans to his loss in the election and the transfer of the presidency to Biden, who - according to his estimation - does not deal well with those problems.

At his latest rally in California, Trump touched on the problem of shoplifting, which has worsened recently, and put forward a solution that pleased his followers: "We will immediately stop all thefts. If you rob a store, expect to be shot when you leave that store."

California will spend about a quarter of a billion dollars to help law enforcement agencies bolster surveillance patrols to control criminal activities and stop shoplifting.

Republicans and Democrats have a different view of dealing with the crisis, and in contrast to this perception expressed by Trump, Democrats see support for a law that reduces the penalty for those who steal less than $950 from a felony to a misdemeanor.

Trump's statement received wide interaction on social media platforms, and the "Shabakat" program monitored part of it in its episode on (2023/10/2), including what John wrote, "I wish everything (everything) in the world is as easy as the solutions proposed by Trump."

Imad al-Rashoudi wrote, "They all play on passion and exploitation of peoples. This tickles the rich. It tickles the poor in order to win elections, and then the state is lost."

While Miteb believes that this is "a strong and dangerous statement from him, but I expect that it will benefit them and prevent theft spread among them," Hatem considered in his tweet that "the idea of shooting at thieving agents is a failure" because "all Americans are armed."

Fatima wrote, "What I know is that the law allows shooting a thief but after he exceeds a certain amount, and now some states have implemented the decision, the problem of how to know how much he stole, and also the chaos of theft when they are several people at the same time stealing from the store."

With this speech, Trump tickled the emotions of conservatives who like to take up arms as an inherent constitutional right, and achieved another goal by asserting that the gun lobby is supported in his election campaign as the strongest and oldest lobby group in the United States.
