The kick-off of a new vaccination campaign against Covid-19 was given on Monday as the virus regains ground at the beginning of summer. If it is primarily directed at those most at risk, everyone can be vaccinated free of charge. Illustration in a Parisian pharmacy where Europe 1 went.

Sitting in a corner of the pharmacy, Eléa and Solveig wait to be vaccinated against Covid-19. Aged 16 and 24, the two sisters made an appointment at the opening of this new vaccination campaign, decided in view of the increase in the number of contaminations, observed in recent weeks. "I did it six months ago and I'm renewing it. Simply because I prefer to be vaccinated in prevention rather than having a Covid knowing that there is a resurgence," says one of them.

"We had excellent support"

Like them, dozens of people follow one another in this pharmacy in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. "We started vaccinating at 9am. All our elderly or frail people, we offered them the vaccine and we had excellent adherence. We have made appointments for the week, we must have about sixty, "says the manager of the pharmacy who attributes this interest in vaccination to the increase in the number of cases since the start of the school year.

"I feel like there's a real awareness. We have a lot of patients who haven't been vaccinated for a year or even 18 months. And there, we see that the virus is turning and we see cases, not necessarily very serious, but still serious. And we all have people who have had Covid around us so people are aware that we have to revaccinate and come spontaneously," she says. And who says new campaign, also says new vaccines. All patients will receive, in fact, a dose of the latest Pfizer serum designed to fight against all variants of Covid.
