A moose has caused major disruptions to subway traffic in the Stockholm area and has been shot as a result. The animal got lost first on the tracks and then in the station Vårby gård, as a spokesman for the Stockholm public transport company told the Swedish news agency TT and the radio station SVT, among others. In the station, they first tried to lure the moose out again – but because this did not succeed, gamekeepers had to shoot the animal.

Previously, the moose had paralyzed large parts of the red line of the Stockholm subway network. Several stations had to be closed. Videos from the newspapers »Aftonbladet« and »Expressen« showed the animal running along the tracks above ground.
