In the city center of Iserlohn in North Rhine-Westphalia, two teenagers discovered a body on Wednesday morning. According to initial findings, the dead woman is a 57-year-old from the homeless milieu.

The police in Hagen assumed a homicide in view of the finding situation and set up a homicide squad. Within a few hours, the criminal investigation department was able to determine the residential address of a 29-year-old suspect.

Since it was a gun owner, the access in the man's apartment was carried out by forces of the SEK. The surrounding streets were cordoned off extensively. During the subsequent arrest, the man was injured, it said.

The background to the crime is still unclear. The relationship between the suspect and the woman killed is still the subject of ongoing investigations, a police spokesman said. The investigators did not initially give any further details.
