The autumn tradition "Matsue Water Lantern Road" is held around the national treasure Matsue Castle in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture, with a lot of lights.

The Matsue Water Lantern Road, which began on September 9, is known as an autumn tradition in Matsue, and about 23,1000 andons are lit around Matsue Castle and along the moat.

At the main venue, Ninomaru Plaza, 475 handmade andon noodles solicited from the general public under themes such as "Matsue-ness" and "Shimane's charm" are lined up, and the prefectural tourism PR character "Shimanekko" and the flower "Botan" of Matsue City are painted on the surface.

Visitors enjoyed the long autumn nights by strolling in a fantastic atmosphere with the swaying lights lined up along the moat, and taking pictures with the illuminated Matsue Castle.

A couple with a baby visiting from the city said, "I think it's good that the nights have become cooler and easier to go out because it has been a hot day.

"Songjiang Water Lantern Road" is held from 10 p.m. to 15 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays until October 6.
