Macky Sall refused to comment on the imprisonment of opposition leader Ousmane Sonko, stating that he could not do so in view of the judicial proceedings that were still ongoing. But he insisted that the dissolution of Ousmane Sonko's party, PASTEF, was justified, because of its calls for "insurrection and destruction of the state".
Finally, Macky Sall said that he did not reject the possibility of assuming responsibility for the post of Secretary-General of the United Nations in the future, if several countries asked him to do so, even if he did not consider that this was his "primary vocation".
