That Queen Letizia is a strong defender of Spanish fashion is indisputable. His support for both renowned designers and 'new faces', not to mention his loyalty to small entrepreneurial brands of a more local character (and to Zara and Massimo Dutti), is one of his hallmarks if we talk about his relationship with fashion.

And yet, when she goes to London, Queen Letizia usually brings out of her closet great looks of brands that stomp on the international catwalks. A phenomenon that has been repeated today, when he has come to the capital of the United Kingdom to attend the central event of World Cancer Research Day, and his chosen look is signed by none other than one of the greats of fashion of the XXI century, Giorgio Armani.

The recent precedent we saw during the coronation of Charles III, last May: at the reception that took place the day before at Buckingham Palace she wore a green cocktail dress by local designer, Victoria Beckham.

The next day, for the main event, Doña Letizia stood out among the royals for wearing the most colorful color in a two-piece suit of midi skirt of pencil line and a peplum jacket with embroidery on the neckline, by Carolina Herrera, and for her pamela, similar to a Vietnamese hat (this was 'made in Spain', of Balel).

Queen Letizia, in London, by Armani

Although Queen Letizia premieres (at least in front of the public) in her visit to London, she repeats two details that we have already seen in her this week: the floral print and the fact of wearing an international designer brand. And it is that in his visit to Barcelona at the beginning of the week, His Majesty wore a dress by Dries Van Noten of jacquard, fitted and long midi, with a simplicity of lines compensated by the floral print of very delicate stems with golden flowers made with lurex.

Today's Giorgio Armani silk dress belongs to the pre-fall collection presented in 2019 by the designer, and the style is somewhat more daytime. That touch is given by the design itself, which simulates a two-piece top and skirt; the greater flight of the skirt, despite remaining long midi; the boards that shape the skirt, and the floral print itself, with bouquets of two or three pink, red and fuchsia flowers, on a navy blue background.

Carolina Herrera, as usual, signs the Queen's accessories: handbag and undercut salons that she has in various colors (and that Princess Leonor also loves).

Why Armani is so special to Queen Letizia

De Armani was precisely the suit that Queen Letizia wore when she and King Felipe VI announced their engagement in 2003. The model is wide pants and jacket fitted in white, and has become one of his most recognizable looks over the years.

A suit so imperishable that of Armani of then that the Queen has dusted off on occasion, as for the official trip to Morocco in 2019.
