A woman on Thursday accused British actor Russell Brand of sexually exhibiting himself in front of her in 2008, adding to recent allegations of rape and sexual assault against the artist.

The alleged victim told the BBC that, at the time of the incident, he worked in the same building as the British broadcaster's offices in Los Angeles.

The woman did not report it at the time, but BBC management had been aware of the incident since 2019, although it took no action.

"If they had acted then, perhaps there would have been fewer women who would have suffered horrible things, as we are reading lately in the press," she told the British network.

Last week, four women alleged sexual assaults by Brand between 2006 and 2013, when the actor was at the height of his fame working as a presenter for BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4 and acting in Hollywood films.

Brand, 48, denied those accusations and said it was always "consensual" relationships.
