Keisuke Niino, chairman of the Japan General Insurance Association, apologized to Sompo Japan Insurance Japan for the issue of fraudulent insurance claims by Big Motor, and expressed his intention to work to prevent a recurrence.

In response to the issue of fraudulent claims for insurance claims by Big Motor, the Financial Services Agency required non-life insurance companies to report on the actual status of transactions, etc., and on the 19th, Sompo Japan Insurance entered and inspected Sompo Japan Insurance in accordance with the Insurance Business Act.

Mr. Niino, President of ADI and Chairman of the General Japan Insurance Association, apologized, saying, "It is regrettable and we must apologize for the situation in which the industry as a whole must deal with the situation, not the problem of Sompo Japan Insurance Company."

In addition, Chairman Niino expressed his intention to work as an industry group to prevent recurrence, such as by revising the guidelines that summarize the methods of fraudulent insurance claims and countermeasures, and stated, "I take the seriousness of the problem seriously, and as chairman, I myself am determined to lead efforts to restore trust by leading the industry."
