For 17 years, the sewing and crafts festival has arranged fairs in Sweden. According to project manager Linnea Olsson, the visitors have mainly been older women, but in recent years more and more young people have been seen.
"They are coming more and more. After the pandemic, we have seen an increased interest and in a place like this, generations will meet, she says.
When pandemic restrictions kept people at home around the world, it became popular on social media with instructional videos in crocheting, knitting, embroidery and sewing.
At one point, it even became a viral trend on Tiktok to crochet the same cardigan that Harry Styles wore during one of his concerts.
In 2022, the home-knitted garment became the Christmas gift of the year.
