According to the police, a motorist pushed away two climate activists with his car during a road blockade in Munich. The man pushed the two protesters on Monday at walking speed in front of him, police said. After that, he disappeared without further concern for the incident.

Rescue workers did not find any injuries to the activists, a police spokesman said. On platform X, formerly Twitter, the group Last Generation distributed a video that is supposed to show the incident. The police are investigating.

Climate activists had again blocked traffic on several roads in Munich on Monday. There were nine such actions during the day, the police said in the evening. In addition, activists had twice tried to glue themselves to the street in the area of Donnersberger Brücke/Arnulfstraße. However, the police prevented this.

Several activists had been forcibly pulled off the road by road users in various places. The evening's announcement continued: "The Munich police expressly ask road users to remain calm. Persons who violently act against other persons in any form whatsoever are consistently investigated by the police."

In response to the large number of protests and a rescue corridor that was therefore not guaranteed throughout, the city had issued a partial ban on such demonstrations on Friday. It applies to protests that take place on routes of emergency and rescue vehicles, are not reported and where activists glue themselves to the roadway.

The regulation is therefore valid up to and including September 12 – the day for which the group Letzte Generation has announced the end of its protests for the time being. Until then, participation in the protests could be punished with a fine of up to 3000,<> euros. Above all, however, the general decree of the police makes it easier to take action against the traffic blockades.
