【Commentary】 From August 8th to 27th, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics welcomed 28 undergraduate and graduate students. At the orientation site, the school creatively launched a driverless car to participate in the orientation work, checking luggage for students, attracting the attention of students and parents.

【Commentary】At the north gate of the Jiangjun Road campus of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, four driverless vehicles involved in checking luggage drove on the campus road, transporting luggage for freshmen, "busy" and happy.

Equipped with key technologies independently developed by the scientific research team of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, driverless vehicles relying on 5G, AI, big data analysis and other technologies are equipped with high-definition cameras, lidar and other sensors, which can realize automatic navigation and active avoidance.

When this driverless car is moving, if it perceives rain, fog or low light, it can use neural network technology to autonomously eliminate the rain or fog on the lens, so that it can see more clearly. At the same time, we have also installed stereo perception radar and multi-line radar, and multiple sensors work together, so that we can detect three-dimensional information around the depth distance ahead, which is more intelligent.

【Explanation】In the process of automatic driving, the driverless car can quickly recognize faces and license plates, and conduct real-time inspection, rapid positioning, and intelligent processing of personnel and vehicles.

Because it has an automatic driving function, it can do image backhaul, face recognition, license plate recognition and other functions, teachers and students encounter what kind of problems, through the "one-key alarm" function on the car, the first time to our campus monitoring alarm command center for help.

At present, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics has put a total of six unmanned vehicles on the Jiangjun Road Campus and the Tianmu Lake Campus. Not only can it help run during the day, but it can also automatically patrol at night to ensure campus safety.
