In addition to private businesses such as restaurants and hotels, public facilities such as city halls and schools have received harassing calls, and out of 225 consultations, the largest number of calls (74) are from within Fukushima Prefecture.

At a press conference after the Cabinet meeting on March 29, National Public Security Commission Chairman Tani said, "I am aware that police in various regions have been consulted, and we are strongly urging the Chinese side through diplomatic channels to take appropriate measures, such as calling on the Chinese people to act calmly. We will continue to instruct the police to closely monitor the situation in cooperation with relevant organizations."

Foreign Minister Hayashi: "I would like to communicate closely"

Foreign Minister Hayashi said at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting, "It is extremely regrettable and concerning, and we will request a calm and constructive response from the Chinese side."

Regarding relations with China, he stated, "It is Japan's consistent policy to promote constructive and stable relations through mutual efforts, and we will strongly urge the Chinese side to act responsibly while firmly asserting the position of the Japan side regarding treated water. He expressed his intention to continue the dialogue.

Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Matsumoto: "Explanation of nuisance call countermeasure service"

At a press conference after the Cabinet meeting, Minister Matsumoto stated, "It is extremely regrettable and deeply concerned that there have been a large number of suspicious phone calls such as harassment that appear to be originating from China."

He then stated, "We requested telephone service providers to thoroughly explain their nuisance call countermeasure services, such as rejecting specific numbers and international calls, to users and to respond smoothly if they receive an application."
