According to the expert, the storm warning was issued in advance for August 29-30 and the approach of a "cyclone with a very large amount of precipitation" was known five days before the predicted events.

"The wind on the coast, on the capes that protrude into the sea, can reach 33-36 m / s. The storm warning says that the height of the waves can reach four meters, which is quite a dangerous figure for this region, "Shuvalov said.

According to his forecast, precipitation in Primorsky Krai will continue for two days, gradually shifting from southwest to northeast.

"During these days, from 40 mm, and in some places 130-150 mm of precipitation can fall. Which is comparable to the monthly rainfall. I take into account that before that, two monthly rainfall rates had already fallen in Vladivostok itself, this, of course, is a very serious addition. It is quite possible and predicted by local weather forecasters to raise the level of rivers and new flooding," the forecaster added.

In conclusion, the interlocutor of RT noted that on Thursday in most of the region the rains will already subside, but may still remain on the coast, where it will continue throughout the first half of the day.

Earlier, Anatoly Tsygankov, deputy head of the situation center of Roshydromet, spoke about the weather in Primorye.
