"Barbie", the film by Greta Gerwig inspired by the plastic doll, has become on Monday the highest grossing film in the history of Warner Bros. to exceed with 1,342 million dollars (about 1,240 million euros) at the box office to "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2", according to information from the Box Mojo Office page.

The title of the most lucrative film of the studio had maintained until then the film starring Daniel Radcliffe that managed to collect 1,341 million dollars during 25 weeks in 2011.

Even so, "Barbie" has managed to pass that multimillion-dollar figure in addition to becoming the thirteenth film in history that exceeds 600 million dollars of collection in the United States.

The film starring Margot Robbie in the role of Barbie and Ryan Gosling in the role of Ken has already broken other records before, such as the most lucrative film directed by a solo woman in history (thus surpassing the barrier of 1,000 million dollars raised).

Last week, Barbie surpassed "Super Mario Bros. The Movie" at the domestic box office and became the highest-grossing title of 2023 in North America.

It is also expected to become the highest grossing film of the year worldwide and for this it would have to exceed the 1,360 million dollars that the film based on the Nintendo character made.

The last step for the film to be crowned as the most lucrative of all time directed by a woman, would be to surpass the 1,430 million dollars that "Frozen II", the film directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, raised.
