On Tuesday, August 15, in Moscow, the full-time defense of animated national films to the Cinema Fund took place. A total of 20 projects were presented, including those that apply for additional funding.
Among the new paintings is the cartoon "Nevelskoy", created by the Khabarovsk animation studio "Mechtalet" together with the company Hero4Hero. According to the producers, the film will tell the story of Russian Admiral Gennady Ivanovich Nevelskoy. As a young officer, he goes to the Far East to risk his life to discover new lands.
The plot of the cartoon is based on real events and the story of the hero, who contributed to the unification of a significant part of the territories of Russia.
"We want to show the East as no one has seen it before," said the producer of the studio.
Among the main themes that will be reflected in the film are faith, risk, freedom, perseverance and patience.
The film company "Fresh-Film" presented its first full-length animation project called "See you in a dream" - a cartoon about the land of dreams. The film will talk about family values, as well as the theme of dreams: together with the characters, viewers will be able to speculate about where they come from and what they are. According to the filmmakers, the inspiration for the creation of the visual part was such famous films as "Toy Story", "Monsters, Inc." and "Soul".
Among the voice actors are Mikhail Galustyan, Peter Glantz, Tatyana Shitova, Sergey Burunov, Vsevolod Kuznetsov, Roman Postovalov and Vladimir Antonik.
The budget that the company plans to spend on the production of the animated film is 130 million rubles. The release is scheduled for summer 2026.
The theme of Soviet classics was addressed by the studio "Bazelevs". At the pitching, the company presented a full-length animated film "The Return of the Mammoth" - a continuation of Oleg Churkin's film "Mom for the Mammoth" (1981). The director of the new film is Anton Vereshchagin ("Jingliks"), the scriptwriter is Ivan Petukhov ("New Christmas Trees", "Alice").
In the story, the son of a grown-up hero of a Soviet cartoon will go on dangerous adventures to find a mother for his dad. On the way, the mammoth will meet new friends, and also understand what a family is. The characters will be voiced by Evgeny Kulik, Sergey Burunov, Regina Todorenko and Timofey Tribuntsev.
"I plan to build a special visual structure: warm, dynamic and at the same time a continuation of the tradition of the original cartoon," the director promised.
In addition to the Soviet tape, the projects "Ice Age" and "In Search of Nemo" were used as references. Production will begin on September 1, 2023. The release is expected in October 2026.
Another well-known Russian work will receive a modern rethinking - the film company "Magic Factory Animation" is shooting the film "The Kiss of the Frog", the basis for which was the fairy tale "The Frog Princess". In the new interpretation, the world of people will forget about what love is, and will live without it. At the same time, the animal world, on the contrary, will be filled with love: families are created there and children are born only in strong feelings.
"We wonder what will happen to the world if love disappears in it," the authors of the picture explained at the defense.
The main character is a young girl who can turn into a frog. She likes to live in the animal world, but because of her sick mother, she is forced to periodically return to people. One day, the heroine meets a prince who, like the rest, does not know love. By chance, he turns into a beaver and, once with the frog in the animal world, learns about the institution of the family, the birth of children and deep feelings.
Members of the film company "Hydrogen 2011" want to show modernity in their film. They finalized and again presented the animation project "In Touch", which last year did not receive support from the Cinema Fund. In it, viewers will see two worlds - the usual human and the world of mobile phones.
The protagonist Max is a teenager who, like all his peers, cannot imagine life without his mobile phone. However, when Max first falls in love, his interest is completely taken over by the subject of sighing.
Inside the cell phones live heroes who, as in the cartoon "Puzzle", see the owner of the mobile phone through the screen. One of these characters realizes that he is losing Max's interest, and decides to return his attention at all costs.
The script of the film was written by Andrey Zolotarev ("Trigger") together with Ksenia Miroshnik ("One Hundred Years Ahead"). The director is Dmitry Kiselev ("The Time of the First"). The rental will be handled by Central Partnership.
Director Natalia Milova and the film company "Thunder" presented the animated science fiction project "Penny" about the utopian world of cars.
In the cartoon, viewers will see the adventures of car friends - Penny, Zapik, Vesta, Clever Man, Handsome and others. The action of the picture will begin in the camp "Artrek", but in the course of the development of the plot, the heroes will visit many countries and cities. The characters will have to protect the world from the evil army of Anthracite.
It is expected that the tape will have many heroes in a variety of locations. There is an agreement on cooperation with almost all Russian automobile companies. The authors of the tape promise that some minor characters will be voiced by domestic politicians.

Screenwriter and director Roman Artemyev is working on the second part of the animated film "Koschei. The Bride Kidnapper" - "Koschei. The Mystery of Living Water". Its authors plan to preserve in the new picture the visual style of the first tape, humor, as well as the relationship between the characters. At the same time, in the continuation of the story of the young Koschei, new characters will appear, in particular the knight Elisha, Queen Morevna and the dragon Hera.
The "Cats of the Hermitage" is also expected to continue - the company "Licensed Brands" presented a new part of the exciting adventures of the heroes in the film "Cats in the Museum: Treasures of Egypt". This time, the four-legged characters will visit the country of the pyramids, see many famous sights and reveal an ancient secret.
According to representatives of the film studio, Egypt was not chosen by chance: the section dedicated to this country is considered one of the most popular among visitors to the Hermitage.
"Our Cinema", in turn, presented the cartoon "The Magnificent Five", which takes place in Moscow of the XIX century. In the center of the plot are street dogs that help save the prima ballerina from failure during a performance in the production of "Swan Lake". Viewers will be told about the importance of friendship, loyalty, help and love. At the moment, the animated film is in post-production.
"Studio Metrafilms" continues to work on the development of the franchise "Three Cats" and presented a new full-length animated film - "Three Cats and the Ice Age". The kittens will go to visit their grandmother Isolde, who studies glaciers in cold lands. The film is scheduled to be released on December 19, 2024.
The continuation will receive another popular series for children - the film company "Airplane" is engaged in the production of the third full-length animated project called "Fixies and Aliens". The film is tentatively scheduled for release on December 26, 2026. In the story, aliens will fly to Earth in order to establish contact with humanity. That's just the size of a microbe, so the Fixies will become a link in communication between humans and aliens. In addition, the heroes will have to save the planet and new friends from the villain.
The company "Chernovik" defended the animation project "Tales of the Yenisei", directed by Denis Chernov, before the members of the Cinema Fund. This is a story about little creatures called imors. They live in the reserve of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and protect nature and animals. The action will unfold in our days.
"We want to show Siberia from a new, bright, colorful side. It seems to me that she deserves it, "said the director.
Among the animation projects presented at the pitching were also "Petrushka" by the company "Kinoyug" about the fact that real wealth is love and friendship, and the New Year's film "Fabulous Rescuers" from the studio "Sky Frame" about the confrontation of the bear-snowboarder Erema, the Snow Maiden, Santa Claus and other good characters to the evil sorcerer Morok, whose role will be voiced by Sergey Shnurov. Another future animation project is "Malusha" based on the book of the same name by Oleg Roy. The film will talk about a rough and uncouth Viking who comes to conquer Russia, but in the end finds good, finds strength, friends and love. The cartoon will be released in 4K resolution. Filmmakers promise exciting adventures with battle scenes and an abundance of characters.
Among the animated films applying for additional financing were the second part of the cartoon "Finnick", as well as the films "Seraphim", "Hansel and Gretel: Mission "Sleeping Beauty", "Doctor of Dinosaurs" and "Passion Fruit".
