In Bonn, fraudsters have robbed a senior citizen of more than 300,000 euros. An unknown woman called the 81-year-old and pretended to be an employee of the district court, police said.

The woman had led the old lady to believe in a long conversation that her daughter had "driven a person to death". In order for the daughter not to go to jail, more than 200,000 euros in cash would have to be paid.

The elderly woman then had jewelry and money ready, which were picked up by two women one after the other. When the elderly woman returned to her apartment, the fraudulent caller had already hung up, and the two crooks had escaped undetected with the loot. The elderly woman's daughter filed a complaint.
