Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has bought a property on an exclusive island off Miami. The man-made Indian Creek Island is known as the "Billionaire Bunker". Bezos will be able to count a growing list of celebrities among his neighbors, including Tom Brady, Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner.

The world's third-richest man, 59, bought the waterfront mansion in Indian Creek Village in Miami's Biscayne Bay in June for $68 million, not wanting to reveal his identity.

The house has three bedrooms, a pool and stands on a 2.8 hectare plot. Previously, it belonged to the company »MTM Star International«, which acquired it in 1982 for 1.4 million dollars.

But one property is not enough. The Amazon founder and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez are looking for more properties in the area, an anonymous source told Bloomberg.

Bezos, who is worth $195 billion, has a growing real estate fortune of nearly $600 million, including a Beverly Hills mansion worth $165 million, a mansion in Hawaii worth $78 million, and three apartments in Manhattan worth a total of $30 million.

The billionaire also owns one of the world's most expensive superyachts, the Koru, on which he and Sanchez spent the summer on the Mediterranean.

Known as a hotspot for the country's wealthiest people, Miami's new home island has an average home price of $29.5 million and a population of only about 40.

Indian Creek Island is described as "the most exclusive community in the world," with only 34 properties spread over 300 acres. The island has a country club and its own police force.

Each property is right on the water and the island has a private 18-hole golf course, but arguably the most desirable feature for the wealthy residents is security.

Indian Creek Island is only accessible via a single, guarded bridge and the private police unit that patrols around the clock on foot, sea and land.

Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen built an "eco-villa" there before separating last year. Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner bought a $2020 million plot of land on the island from musician Julio Iglesias in 30. Jay Z and Beyoncé also once had a house on »Billionaire Bunker«.

Bezos will now be the richest billionaire on the island.
